Dog walking
Dogs not only need exercise, they absolutely love it as well! Apart from keeping them fit and healthy, exercise provides the essential mental and physical stimulation for a happy hound. Many undesirable habits such as excessive barking and chewing, are simply your dog expressing its pent up energy or frustrated feelings.
Whatever the weather, I offer regular or occasional walks for your dog. (In the case of extreme snow, walks may be cancelled or delayed, but if I can get there I will)!
Your dog(s) will be collected from your home and driven to a walk, the destinations will vary to continually provide stimulation and exploration, and then returned to your home after their walk and will be left dry and comfortable. I have a spacious van which is caged and secure and fully insured to transport your pets.
Dogs are walked in groups, this is good socialisation for your dog, however if you prefer to have your dog walked individually please ask.
According to the RSPCA, dogs shouldn’t be left alone for more than four hours at a time. So if you’re at work, or away for the day, this could be a useful service for yourself and means your dog isn't left alone for too long during the day.
Cat visits
My cat home visits are ideal for cat owners who are reluctant to put their cat into a cattery while away on holiday, business or due to illness and this could also be a far more cost effective option.
I can call in once or twice per day as required to tend to your cat, this may include feeding, petting, play, providing fresh water and changing litter tray.
If you are away on holiday I am happy to collect the post, turn on the lights and heating and draw the curtains as necessary, to make your home looked 'lived in'.
Pet sitting
As well as visiting your pets while you’re away One Man and Your Dog also offers a live-in house pet-sitting service. This is the stress free alternative to kennels/catteries.
You may be going on holiday, having a short break or a long hospital stay, or you may have to be away on business this service will offer complete peace of mind that your pets and home are attended to.
Your home will be left clean and tidy on your return and you can expect total confidentiality and respect for your home and privacy.
Pet Sitting is where I would stay in the customer’s home and look after their pet(s) and home as the customer would if they were working – Please Note that other pet duties will be carried out whilst your pet/s are in our care.
This service includes:
A daily walk
Feeding of pet(s)
Basic grooming if required
Watering of indoor and outdoor plants if required
Bins put out if required
Mail collection
Dog boarding
If your dog dislikes the stress of kennels and prefers home from home surroundings and creature comforts, then you may find our Home Boarding Service of interest.
Your dog will be welcomed into our home and treated like one of our own pampered pooches! They'll keep their usual routine of feeding times with plenty of walks, and be able to enjoy the comfort of our home, sit with us in the lounge, snuggle by the fire and have access to a secure garden.
Your dog's own food and treats are to be brought with them for the duration of the stay along with any toys, blankets, bowls, bedding etc. However, if you would like food provided for you (as to your preference) then this can be arranged.
Pet taxi
If your pet needs local transportation e.g. to the Vet, grooming parlour or kennels etc., this can be arranged.
Your dog will be collected and put in the back of a purpose built spacious van which is caged and secure and fully insured to transport your pets.
I can also do longer trips; transporting pets to the airport for emigration, relocate them to other parts of the UK and take them for tests and treatments not available locally.
One Man and Your Dog offer a door to door service if your pet needs to attend the veterinary surgery, I will collect your pet from home, represent yourself at the vet's and return your pet home with a full report.
